Yesterday, the Australian Athletics Championships took place at Sydney Olympic Park, and for the first time, the event drew an unusually high level of attention from the team at Plantation Homes. ‘Why,’ you might ask, ‘would the team from a building company be so invested in an annual sporting event?’
Because this year, one of our very own customers was taking to the track to compete in the men’s 200m sprint. And we were ecstatic to watch as he not only won the race but broke the world U20 record!

18-year-old Brisbane born sprinter, Gout Gout, is known for two things; speed and an incredible dedication to reaching his long-term goals - but this doesn’t just apply on the running track.
In 2025, Gout smashed his off-track goal to own his own home, purchasing a brand-new Plantation home in Spring Mountain, just south-west of Brisbane. The location keeps him at the heart of the community that has always supported his athletic achievements; whilst the home itself has created an ideal lifestyle for him and his family to enjoy.
“It feels amazing. I mean, that’s everyone’s dream - to be able to work and get your own home and gratefully - I’m able to have one now and I’ve just turned 18. It feels amazing, I couldn’t wish for anything else.” says Gout.
In true ‘world-record-holder-fashion’; Gout Gout reached his goal the fast way - choosing to purchase one of our move-in ready homes. There was no waiting for land to register, or construction to take place; Gout was able to walk-through an already completed home and see the exact space he would soon be living in. It was the fast, simple way to achieve his dream, whilst still being able to focus on his mammoth on-track career.
