The slab is down, and the 2026 House for Life is officially underway - transforming from plans on paper into a home built with purpose, passion and heart.

This year’s build holds an extra special connection to one of the families touched by Mater Little Miracles. Brisbane parents Tiahna and Juan know firsthand the life-changing impact of Mater’s care, after welcoming their twin boys, Charlie and Oliver, at just 26 weeks.

Weighing just 675g and 820g, the twins spent months in the Mater Mothers’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit, where they received lifesaving treatment after being diagnosed with Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome during pregnancy.

Now thriving and ready to celebrate their second birthday in November, Charlie and Oliver recently visited the build site in Wavell Heights, donning chef hats and aprons to “cook up” a little fun in their play kitchen - right where the home’s real kitchen will soon stand.

The 2026 House for Life is a Lillian 438-D47 with the Monroe façade, a 47-square double-storey home built by a generous network of volunteer trades and suppliers. Once complete, it will feature four spacious bedrooms, multiple living zones, a stunning entertainer’s kitchen with butler’s pantry, a theatre, grand alfresco and swimming pool - all professionally styled to perfection.

The home will go under the hammer in 2026, with 100% of proceeds donated to the Mater Foundation to support premature and seriously ill babies at Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.

“This is where it all begins - a block of land, a big idea and a whole lot of heart,” says Rod Gibbs, Building Manager at Plantation Homes. “Every House for Life is built with purpose, but it’s the people behind it - the families, the trades and the community - who bring it to life.”

The project follows the record-breaking success of the 2025 House for Life, which sold for an incredible $2.45 million, taking the total raised since the project’s inception to more than $9 million for the Mater Foundation.

“The 2025 House for Life achieved something incredible - and we’re ready to do it again,” says Rowan Foster, Director of Corporate and Community Engagement at Mater Foundation. “This build will help fund the lifesaving care that Mater’s tiniest patients need, and we’re so grateful to everyone who makes it possible.”
